    Introducing Brad Butcher…

Queensland’s Alt. Folk/Country singer songwriter. A two time Golden Guitar Award Winner of Australia and a Queensland Music Award Winner. Butcher’s most recent release, Storyteller… The Journey So Far, is a reflection on the first decade of his career, from the small stages of Central Queensland to the festival main stages around Australia.

To date, Butcher has released 5 studio albums ~ Storyteller… the journey so far (2022), Travelling Salesman (2019), From the Bottom of a Well (2017), Jamestown (2015) and the debut self titled release (2012). He is set to release his highly anticipated 6th full length record EAST OF EVERYTHING mid 2023.

Inspired by the familiar names of James Taylor & Cat Stevens, and industry known and deeply respected songwriters Lori McKenna, Rodney Crowell, John Moreland and Ray lamontagne, Butcher has earned himself critical acclaim and recognition nationally as an independent artist and performer, crafting a career and unique style that sets him apart from the norm of Australian songwriters. Touring Australia extensively and the United States multiple times. Butcher has showcased at Nashville’s premier Americana Fest, Toronto’s NXNE Festival, performed at our own iconic Country Music Awards of Australia multiple times and myriad of national festivals and venues along the way.

At the core of it all is an uncomplicated Australian fella with a solid reputation as a songwriter and a passion to create, connect & inspire.

“The past 10 years have been a myriad of musical trial and error. In many cases one step forward and two steps back, but ultimately, I have grown to be the artist I am today because of that journey. Musically the path has never really changed. I write in my own way, record the sounds and style that I have always loved, and I have stayed true to who I am,” says Brad.

“To me, Brad Butcher is a shining light for singer songwriters in our industry. He plays and sings with depth and tells the stories of this land like no other”. Troy Cassar-Daley

Brad Butcher is one of the most captivating writers of today. His conversational style draws you in with effortless ease. His songs and stories, delivered with a vocal as free as an untrained vine, will grow around you and in you, filling you with nostalgia and emotion. Brad’s music is a trusty companion”. Felicity Urquhart (Australian Country Music Star) & Josh Cunningham (The Waifs)

” Storytelling through songwriting is a gift. Sharing intimate lyrics through a tune that’s pleasing to the listener’s ear is an art form only so few possess. Brad Butcher has that craft. On record and on stage with his smooth, easy, laidback charm. I’ve loved his songs for several years and it’s nice to see him being appreciated by a growing wider audience. He’s a genuine songsmith” David Prior – Host and Producer of the ABC show “Songsmiths”.

Brad Butcher is a Mackay born, Central Queensland, independent singer-songwriter and musician. A two time Golden Guitar Award winner for New Talent (2018) & Alt Country Album of the year (2020) and the 2018 Q Music Award Winner for Best Country Song.

To date, he’s released 5 studio albums ~ Storyteller… the journey so far (2022), Travelling Salesman (2019), From the Bottom of a Well (2017), Jamestown (2015) and the debut self titled release (2012).

Inspired by the familiar names of James Taylor & Cat Stevens, and industry known and respected songwriters Lori McKenna & Rodney Crowell, Butcher has earned himself critical acclaim and recognition nationally as an independent artist and performer, crafting a career and unique style that sets him apart from the norm of Australian songwriters.
